Note: This mod assumes you have a legitimate copy of NCAA Football 06 for PS2, dumped into an ISO format and played with PCSX2 v1.7+ and a legitimate PS2 BIOS dump.
Please use any version between v1.7.2389 through v1.7.4029
DO NOT USE A VERSION NEWER THAN FEBRUARY 08, 2023 (v1.7.4029). If you are seeing black number textures on uniforms, please download the correct emulator version above.
We recommend using the AVX2 QT versions for the best performance and newest user interface. AVX2 version is for computers with Intel Core Processors Gen 2 and up (i.e. 2011-ish and newer)
BIOS Settings
Add your PS2 BIOS file to the emulator's BIOS folder, and then select it in the BIOS section of the PCSX2 Settings. We recommend SCPH-70012 or 77001 versions for best compatibility with our mod.
Emulation Settings
In Emulation settings:
Checkbox MULTI-THREADED VU1 (MTVU).
If you have a slower device, or if you are seeing frame rate issues, you can change the EE Cycle Rate from 100% to 75% and see if that helps improve speed.
Graphics Settings
Display
Set Aspect Ratio to WIDESCREEN
Set FMV Aspect to WIDESCREEN
Set De-Interlacing to "NONE" <--EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!
Optional:
Check Anti-Blur and VSync for improved visual quality
RENDERING
Set Renderer to AUTO or VULKAN (preferred). If these do not work, choose Direct 3D or OpenGL.
Set Internal Resolution to the best your Device can handle. We recommend 2X or better.
Set Trilinear Filtering to Trilinear FORCED, if your device can handle it.
Set Texture Preloading to Full, if your device can handle it.
You can play with other settings in this menu to improve visual quality!
TEXTURE REPLACEMENT
Check LOAD TEXTURES
Check ASYNC TEXTURE LOADING
DO NOT CHECK "Precache Textures" -- this may cause stalls if you check it!
Reminder:
Do not upgrade to any newer version of the PCSX2 emulator. It will cause uniform numbers to go black and possibly other texture issues due to changes in the way the emulator behaves.
If you need to use the newer emulator version for other games, then install the newer version in a different install location and use both!
